Description As I already predicted when starting this project, this little sucker has some pretty weird lore behind it... As you can read in the Wikipedia article below or deduce from this pictures slightly revealing title the bird, you are seeing right now is not what happens if you feed enough magic mushrooms to a Kiwi, but is in fact called an "Elwetritsch". This cryptid is said to dwell the underbrush of south-western Germany´s forest, hedging from round, shiny eggs, which actually grow along with the creature inside until the young Elwetritsch has developed far enough to face the harsh conditions of German climate ( mostly slightly rainy and coldish.... kind of ). The bird´s weird looks are believed to be a result of its origins as the lovechild of ducks, geese or chicken with the goblins and fairies of the forest ( don´t make me think about the logistics of that... or the browser history of the lad who thought of this detail for that matter ). The nice knockers on its front on the other hand seem to be a later addition to the mythos by 20th  artists, presumably practicing how to oversexualize cultural symbols in case they´d live to see the rise of the internet. Well, at least those guys did not need to worry about messing up the creature´s aerodynamics, for the Elwetritsch shares its chicken ancestor´s incapability of flight.
After so much condensed pseudoscientific information here are some fun facts about the Elwetritsch and the links to the Wikipedia articles for anyone who managed to read this far:
Fun fact 1: I myself have visited a multitude of Elwetritsch fountains and statues on my travels through Germany, including the one depicted in the Wikipedia article.
Fun fact 2: Elwetritsch hunts are still pretty popular in some of the more tourist infested parts of the legend´s region of influence, although like with all kinds of that stuff people today do it in more of an ironic kind of way. Still... pretty awesome
