Description
The original idea for Delphi and Pythia (oracle twins) was suggested to me by *fashionGIRL18 . If not for her, these two wouldn't be here.

Alrighty, introducing Monster High OC, #14!
Eventually, I may try to end this madness. Promise.

So anyways, this here is Delphi Sybil. She and her twin - Pythia - were inspired by the Greek mythological figure, "Pythia, the Oracle of Delphi." Yes, yes...the reasoning behind their first names isn't obvious whatsoever. I went through the process of searching for several names that had to do with sight, eyes, visions, etc. and came up with a shitload of them...but for some reason there wasn't a pair of them that had the nice sound that "Delphi and Pythia" do. Maybe they actually sound like shit - either together or just in general - but I really like them so boo on you if you don't (just kidding!). Their last name, "Sybil" was one of the names meaning seeing, sight, eye, vision, etc. that just didn't work for a first name...but it sure as hell worked for a surname!

Anywho, Delphi (and Pythia for that matter) is an Oracle, which is basically just a human-like whatever that can see into the future. Delphi is the one that forsees pain and suffering. As such, she is not a very happy person. She is also my first straight up "goth" character. Ever. She's sarcastic, a "downer," and likes to be left alone... For the most part, everyone accepts this. Except Pythia, of course. Pythia seems oblivious to the fact that Delphi hates life, basically.

Also, you'll notice that Delphi refers to using drugs to numb the pain brought on by her visions. Once upon a time in a show called The Vampire Diaries, there is a druggie-turned-vampire - Vicki - who is described as "a vampire with issues." This was the thought in my mind while making up Delphi's character. As a result of her visions, she is now kind of a "monster with issues." I dunno, I find it kind of an ironic statement. So yeah...Delphi's addicted to drugs. Take that whichever way you want to, but that's who she is. And no, she doesn't care what you think of her because of it.

The name for their pet, Lila, was also one of the names - well okay, it was actually taken from Delilah that mean something about sight or vision, etc. - that didn't make the cut for either of their first names. If you're unfamiliar with what a "tarsier" is, check out this picture of one: [link] And yes, it was chosen because of how frackin' huge the eyes are! They're cute, too...in a creepy kind of way.
