Description Just a jab at the casting for Wonder Woman in the upcoming "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie(because the internet clearly needs more of those, right).

Now, I'm not saying that this means she won't possibly play a badass Wonder Woman(mainly because I've got no idea what hole in reality she suddenly popped out of), I'm just saying that it's going to take a lot of effort and suspension of disbelief to make it convincing...

Also, fucking enormous platform heels are fucking enormous!

Wonder Woman belongs to DC Comics and Warner Brothers.

So after BvS, the Wonder Woman solo movie, and Justice League: What are your thoughts on Gal Gadot now?

I think she's alright.

Still not my first pick to play Wonder Woman, though...

Very funny. I agree. Wonder Woman should have muscle tone and definitely be taller than the other two in the trinity, after all she is an amazon warrior.Β Β

Holycrap1992 In reply to frontios [2016-01-14 05:22:08 +0000 UTC]

Agreed(at the very least, she should stand shoulder-to-shoulder with her male cohorts). I also think that she should have a commanding presence instead of be reduced to a secondary character and/or token Batman love-interest(which, according to rumor, is definitely what might possibly happen, much to my irritation)...

Is the girl Gal Godot?

And honestly speaking, why the heck would Wonder Woman NEED to be about 7 feet tall? She's an Amazon, she's meant to be pretty and powerful Being a Demigod and all ;; Well, that or sculpted. I wonder if they'll go with the statue backstory XP

Holycrap1992 In reply to Shadow-DJ [2016-01-13 03:41:30 +0000 UTC]

Yes. Yes, she is.

No, she doesn't NEED to be about 7 feet tall, but she should be more muscular and toned and at least be tall enough to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with her male teammates; not a short, stick-thin Ms. America type(I pray to all of the Gods that they go with her classic origin, instead of have her be the daughter of the biggest misogynist in the Greek pantheon).

I do agree with the muscular tone thing, BUT I don't think it's healthy or natural for a woman to have as many muscles as you'd expect from a testrotine-filled man ;; Even the Amazons of Greek MYths didn't ook like that half the time ;; they looked tomboyish and beefy, but not like that.

And as fo the daughter of Zeus thing...I honestly with a compromise there in my take: She is a daughter of Zeus, but more on the lines of 'he gave some of his magic' to impregnante Hipollota and had the other Gods bestow gifts to the child. Basically she's an organic Pandora that is meant to protect Olympus, but Hippolyta, as the Wonder Woman before Diana, wanted to avoid that as much as possible since, well...in my take, she's the one that fought in WWII.

Hmmm......... True, it's probably best that she and her Amazonian sisters don't look like roided-up dudes. However, I wouldn't advocate that DC/WB push to make the Amazons more like their real-world mythological counterparts, since that's exactly what the "New 52" tried to do(and we all know what resulted from that, don't we?)...

You're free to have your own interpretation of her origin(her mother previously being Wonder Woman is a cool idea), I just never understood why Zeus needed to be involved period(I mean, for Gods' sake, the Amazons don't even worship Zeus!).

He's one of their gods and I am actually using aspects of Greek Mythology in Diana's backstory ;; Heck, her grandpa is Ares

...yes, I am having it that Hippolyta's father was Ares like in the myths.

I'm fine with stuff like that, her being indirectly related to the Gods is an interesting idea(are Ares and Zeus even related?)...

I ask because it's been inconsistent throughout their many depictions whether or not that was the case.

Trust me, I have read a lot of verisons. 9/10 times, Ares is gonna be the son of Zeus.

Ah, okay. Thanks.

Also, if the rumors are true, then it seems that Wondy might get denigrated to merely being Batman's love interest(which, aside from the red-string-strangling of the DCAU, has that ever been an actual thing?)...

I think it's been done a couple of times in the comics And honestly speaking, I think she's betterwith Bats than Superman if I had to pick between the heroes she could end up with ;;;

I'm very well aware of that, yet ignorant/hack writers seem to completely ignore him in favor of shipping her with Superman or Batman(often with little-to-no buildup, or even a reason why they should be together, and regardless of whether or not there's any actual chemistry between them).

Holycrap1992 In reply to Shadow-DJ [2016-01-19 03:51:04 +0000 UTC]

Indeed.

In addition, apparently, most writers at DC/WB can't even get the character of Wonder Woman herself right; portraying her as either a raging, bloodthirsty, straw-feminazi or an inept ditz that might as have never been to America until just now...

In other news: apparently, Connie Nielsen has been cast as Queen Hippolyta in the upcoming "Wonder Woman" movie(I've literally never heard of her until now, so I don't know if this news is good or bad)...

Ironically, I was inspired by that take of Jor-El is a bit of an inspiration. In that Jor-El used to be a scientist who helped the military on Krypton way back. Not a soldier, but was trained in a Kryptonian martial arts that allow for better thinking. This is were he gets his armor from ;;;

Basically speaking, the House of El are known as mainly scientists and philosophers in my take, very few are warriors. However, I am thinking that Jor-El and Zod were once brothers in arm before Zod became a criminal/TErrorist. AND also...well...

When Zod was gonna kill Jor-El way back when, about a year or so before the planet blew up, Krypto tackled Β Zod into the Phantom ZOne portal, essentially traping them both until Zod came out, freeing the El family's loyal companion as well

So it's also known, the species Krypto is from is called a 'Kandorian Canid', a large, usally white canine-like alien that has brilliant eyes and a snow white coat, and are akin to Retrievers on Krypton but have MUCH sharper teeth than earth dogs. They look and act like normal canines, but can become more ferocious when angered or provoked, getting a more feral look when pressed in the right way.

Also...back with Wonder Woman...had a thought that she helped train another young woman...who took a name of one of her former enemies to take are of the city she is meant to protect when she is not there. Though question for ya;

You know about the 1980s Wonder Woman comics? Ya know, that revealed that Wondey's mom befriended a war heroine from the Vietnam war (or somewhere around there ; and based the Wonder Woman attire off of her lost friends' thing...and even named her daughter after her?
