Description there was a partial lunar eclipse here this morning. i decided the VLA would be a nice background and was there at 5:00AM. it was cold, 10F. the eclipse got better, but the sky grew too bright to get any detail.

it is fun to shoot and it always makes a good photo. the usual shot is to wait for a thunderstorm and catch the VLA with a rainbow. thanks for collecting my photo too.

by the way, there is an annular eclipse in the SW on May 20. it pretty much goes on a line from Albuquerque to San Francisco.

I'm just going to have to make a point of it. I've been in the general vicinity but never had the time to sidetrack there.

... and cool thanks for the heads up. I'll be looking for it.

honda-vfr In reply to SnapperRod [2011-12-16 04:17:21 +0000 UTC]

yes, it does. i watched frost form on the lens hood, but nothing formed on the optics.

thank you for the favorite also, you are kind.

good health to you this new year.

As along at the camera is allowed to slowly adjust to the surrounding temperature everything should be fine. It is when the camera goes from a warm area to a cold area, quickly, and camera is used, it will completely fog up, lens, viewfinder and internals. Need to avoid that.

Nay from with favs at all

As long as 2012 is better than 2011 then
