Description
It's always kind of bothered me how Red Ridding Hood is portrayed in this tale. She is naive and powerless and in need of saving which seems totally at odds with the kind of environment she is growing up in. I mean wouldn't she be savy to the ways of the creatures of the woods she lives in? wouldn't a parent want to equip their daughter with the knowledge and ability to take care of herself in this environment? Especially if those same parents are going to send her through the woods by herself to visit her sick Grandmother?! There is a sexual undertone to the story of Little Red Ridding Hood and if you are to do a google search on the story there is no shortage scantly clad Sexy Red Ridding Hoods to look at. While a lot of these images are really fun I can't help but think they add an element of "she asked for it." to the story...Anyway! I don't think this is an entirely original idea when talking about this story, but I wanted to portray a Red ridding hood who isn't overtly sexual and can take care of herself thank you very much. Hope it worked out!

I'm a huge LRRH fan. I really like this.
You should re-write the tale to go with your picture. 
On a slightly different note:
In the original (according to my fairy tales professor) the red cape represented that she was "of age"... kinda a coming of age tale. And the wolf represents a "predatory" man. It's a cautionary tale warning to be aware of the intentions of others. But remember that the Brother's Grimm version, although popular, is not the original, and theirs is quite morbid at that. There is an earlier version in which she is well aware of what is going on tricks the wolf in order to get away. In fact, the whole word play of the "your teeth are so big..." etc. is all a ruse because she's not supposed to be so idiotic as to not realize that a wolf is staring her in the face.

So funny, a friend of mine told me about the real story of LRRH last night when I showed her this picture. That story makes WAY more sense! Oh Chauvinism, destroyer of perfectly good stories. I think I'm going to have to do some more research into Grimm Fairy tales and find the truth behind them.

My fairy tales professor wrote it and he collected many of the extremely old and hard to find versions of the stories. The book also discusses the different representational elements in the stories a bit and the changes made throughout time and stuff.

Love the concept. I think you pulled it off quite well. My only critique is, I wish she had a bit more of a feral look in her eyes. Truly cool art.

In the end I decided to try a nonchalant, nothing out of the ordinary look. As if to say "Oh, you like my new hat? I made it myself." 'Cause, you know of course that's what she would do to anyone who tried to mess with her.
