I am feeling extremely guilty; I actually drew this last June. Oops. I have been meaning to put it up for ages, but you know how things go...Anyway, ignore the exceedingly confusing anatomy and admire the inking job and stuff. I had so much fun with the detail, seriously. For some reason I love inking detail.
The costume idea arose from this idea for a High Elf culture with a separate class for warrior noble women. They look like Courtesans, they are revered as Knights. I thought I'd have fun with some costumes that were beautiful and elaborate, but functional for fighting.. well, I pretty much lost the functional bit so I made these ones ceremonial, but still with a suggestion of militant might. I was on a scale mail kick, as you can see. I wish I could make the scales more even on the left one, but too late... Anyhow, two versions of an Elf-queen's costume, one being a bit more battle-ready than the other. Enjoy!

I really just kinda free-handed it. My only advice is to pencil it in first so you can adjust it before it becomes permanent...heh.

The non-uniform placing actually makes it look like a pile of leaves, which is perfect for elves. I also like how she has a formal gown and then real armor for battle.

Nice design, I really like the right one, it proves that armour can be realistic and aestetic at the same time (something that MMOrPGs have yet to learn).

SO you like the first one? Heh, my favorite is the second one, but I think it's mostly because the scale mail is more even-looking. Anyway, I am glad you like it!
