This is such a great shot and I agree wit you 100%. children are pure joy and if you treat them wrong because you were treated wrong then yuo are becoming your own enemy... Well anyways I love the soft glow and the blue hues. It really ties it back to your concept.

Yes it is very sad that somone would do this, I hope the child with the missing bike was able to get i replaced, If we cought the ones who did this and did it to them would it be wrong? I wonder,
This is a wonderful picture that captures such a sad act.

First, WOW, I can't believe I had totally zinged this one...
Second, I don't like the title - too obvious. Needs more distance from the subject. I hate riddles, personally, but there needs to be a little more conclusion made by the viewer, rather than everything we should feel about the piece spelled out for us.
Third, WOW, this is an incredible shot! It's been studied closely above, surely, but perhaps my favorite aspect is the misty background (even more than the spiderwebs, which ARE a great touch.)
As for your treatment, the intricacy of your desaturation is brilliant and perfect. Even though it's blatantly unreal, it all fits perfectly and believably.
The texture of the bike itself is amazing - somewhere between rust to death and burned to a cinder, a ripe range of interpretations. Moreover, I just feel profound ghosts in this image, perhaps driven somewhat by the unlikely/inexplicable location OF the bike.
It's a visually clever model of bike too - it's not generic, but rather, has character all its own.
Just top-notch and awesome.

On that part, nope, you aren't missing much (I'm riding my sixth bike now; it doesn't matter how thick your lock is, they steal it anyway...)!
'Bout photoshopping: everything you see in the pic is as is, I only changed the colors.

you know you're the king of this sort of thing. of the delicacies of life- like rust and mist and blades of grass.
its a powerful subject and you've portrayed it convincingly.
personally, i would have moved the whole thing a little bit to the left...no, to teh right. i just get a little squeamish with centered things. but then again, working with that railing... i don't know.
you're great and this is super intense

This looks really creepy.
It almost looks like there has been a fire going on for days and that all the smoke has washed away all the colours.
And the ash has lied itself on the bike.
Great captured!

when my son was four someone stole his bike..
this shot reminded me of his tear stained face as
he began to see our world treats it's children.
we never found his bike and to buy him another one.
some people never think of their actions having an impact on a child. they dont care.
thank you for sharing this photo... it sparked so much in me.

This should be on the front page, no doubt about it. Awesome shot, sad subject... I love the spiderwebs on the railing, very beautiful.
It just has alot of feeling in this, too.

this is excellant.
and full view is a must!
otherwise you'll miss some of the visual 'subtleties',...
(and i won't give them away)
nice work on the colorizing of the bike. really like those
soft pastel colors.
you've captured such a bittersweet moment.
thank you for sharing it.

thats so awesome, the soft reddish tone of the bike on the b&w background. The weather, the mist, the situation, really emphasize the kind of tragedy behind the whole thing.. wonderful job!
oh btw: it's spelled "innocence"

'bout the spelling: Darn your right!
I already had the feeling I should have grabbed the dictionary....
I'll see if I can change it; thanx!
