First fashionable Rarity, now serious Rarity. Can't have enough Rayraytea.
The film noir style sparked some inspiration up for playing with heavily contrasted black and white, so wanted to try something out in the similar spirit with just enough color to give it that nice little push. Something loyal to the noir style while being more abstract in concept. Like a rendition of Rarity's mind flow during the crime solving.

This is so cool! The noir scene is great, but adding the color in her eyes and the hair sets your piece apart from many of the other pieces from this episode. I'm particularly impressed by the details of the hair in her eyes. Wow!

Rarity fans lamented of the lack of episodes about her. Now, after two episode of her in a row, they better stop now.
I like the fact she investigated without any lack of fashion. The most fabulous detective.

I used to avoid MLP wallpapers like the plague, because I wanted to prevent awkward situations if someone came into my room. This one looks so awesome that I finally changed my mind, though.

And well, a thing I like to think about while painting is to keep MLP in this certain other kind of realistic and rough light. Take the concepts out of the cartoon-ish feel to something that could be appreciated by anyone. That's why I often try to avoid the overly cute or bland/simple representations which would take it back to the straight "this is just a pony painting..." feel.
Just something I felt like I had to say out loud again.
