Gah, I don't know if I could've ever been truly satisfied, but I feel as though I could've/should've added shading and changed a few design elements... lol I'm still learning pony anatomy myself. xD I think your sketches are better than most of the drawings submitted for the contest. (in my opinion, the only thing that might need a little work is your coloring, though it certainly looks like it's moving in the right direction ^^) Anyway, I encourage you to give it a shot.

No worries, I'm into a variety of different styles myself. To be honest, the first time I heard that song from start to finish was earlier today. This looks so awesome and it's something that I'd expect to see on a $40 shirt at the mall.
