Half human and half wild elf, Dawn Farstrider is trained in the tradition of rangers known as forest runners. In particular, patrols the forests on the edge of civilization, attempting to spot threats early, like the ogre raiding party that killed her family when she was a child. Because of that experience, she has a soft spot for homesteaders, farmers and independent forest folk...and a burning hatred of ogres. Her most prized possession is a figurine of wondrous power that turns into a black stallion named Shadowmancer. While excellent with blades, she is particularly known for her skill with the long bow and at throwing hand axes. She worships Lathander for his protection of civilization and his eternal fight against evil. Unlike many rangers, she enjoys civilization and has nothing against it. She believes her patrolling keeps those within civilization safe to worry about advancing the betterment of all, and often works as a scout for city guards.
