This is a fantail goldfish and is about 4 inches long.

He looks like my Bruno when he was little. If he's anything like Bruno you better watch out

Bruno was covered in little freckles and as he aged almost all of them went away, if you keep taking this little guys portrait at regular intervals you'll be able to show how much disappears in time.

[link] Theres the best pic of Bruno I had unfortunately most of his spots are already gone. When he was little he was almost pixelated he had so many. All those shiny scales on him are new ones growing in. If you see a lot of those on your fish it means he's getting a growth spurt and you'll need to buy a new can of fishfood

People generally say that a fish won't outgrow it's tank but it's a missnomer, in some species such as swordtails the dominant fish mostly the males exude a chemical that stunts thier rivals growth and makes them less appealing to the ladies, thats why you always should have more females than males with livebears. Plus in the case of guppys the males are so sex crazed they will bother a single female endlessly and will also try to mate with fish much larger and of a different species than they
