Thought you'd seen the last of me, huh? Think again. Back with another digital painting.

This time, a scene inspired by a local lake. I wanted to capture the transition in color that occurs between winter and spring. These in-between skies that are a combination of dense, dark clouds and serene golden ciels seem to slip past our attention as the weather warms up here in the midwest.

This painting took about 5 hours using my Wacom Intuos drawing tablet and Photoshop CS6. I did my best to honor the in-between, and capture what I saw during my walk around the lake. I took care to emphasize the texture of the birch trees and of the melting lake ice. Ça va bien aller!
