There was some time a small Finnish, fan made downloadable game, named "Mörköpeli". It is not there anymore, but some Finnish youtubers made fun playing videos about it. I got so many laughs while watching them.Moomins are very popular thing in Finland and my own childhood favourite character happened to be this brown, big eared Nipsu (Sniff). My current fave is Mörkö (Groke) herself. Holy hell she traumatised so many kids who happened to see her in the Moomins animation series.

poor groke, she didn't do anything wrong at all, she just wants friends, but can't get any due to the power of freezing anything she touches....
sure she terrifies some kids, but i find her kinda "cute"

I can attest to that. Even now that I'm grown up the sight of her still sends a chill down my spine. Its like this: you know she is not real, but your mind plays tricks on you in the dark.

Minä en ymmärrä mitä järkeä tuossa on. Vaikka Muumit eivät ole lapsuudentuttua minulle, kun minulla oli vain muuta. Onneksi en ole saanut traumaa Möröstä, kun en pienenä tuntenut häntä, äitini sanoi että ei ole tuttua minulle Muumit, olen sitäpaitsi hänen poika ja hän tietää minun elämästä ja tiedän itsekin.

Nyt tuli sen verran erikoista tekstiä että piti lukea pariin otteeseen varmistuakseni että ymmärsin kaiken.
Hyvä silti että mörkö ei päässyt lapsuutesi kimppuun. Muumit nyt muutenkin oli aika rajua tavaraa paikka paikoin kun nyt jälkeenpäin ajattelee.

Minun elämä sattui vaan että ne ei ole lapsuuden tuttua jostain syystä. En osaa sanoa mitään siitä. Äitini ei valehtele tätä ja on todisteita siitä, joten ikävä kyllä se on niin että Muumit ei ole lapsuuden tuttuani. Mörkö en tuntenut pienenä.

I never actually understood what moomins was, then i read the wikipedia and then yeeted myself on the italian serie.
So yeah, it took me like 1 year to be able to understand this panel

I remember being kinda disappointed when I first saw her. After all that build-up I was expecting an awesome looking monster. What I got was a big purple blob. I was 10. I loved monsters.

That is true. I feel like I'm in the minority as I was never scared of her as a kid.
At the time I was used to other cartoons that had some badass looking monsters. At least I thought they looked badass at the time.

As someone who was first exposed to the xenomorphs at the tender age of 9, I just didn't find most monsters scary.
Though to be fair, this live action version www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dfj72D… probably would have freaked me out if I had seen that at a young age.

Mörköpeliä itsekin kokeilin, ja koneelta se myös edelleen löytyy, mutta pelaamaan en sitä pysty, itsesuojeluvaisto on liian vahva XD Pari kertaa tosiaan kokeilin, en tainnut kummallakaan kerralla yli viittä minuuttia uskaltaa pelata :'D Se perkele tunkee vielä nykypäivänäkin painajaisiin.

sinänsä outoa että vaikka mörkö aiheutti muksuna pelkoa tahdoin nähä just niitä jaksoja joissa mörkö esiintyi
