I like the tree - you always seem to find the most unusual trees. This one looks tormented - it's been stripped, burdened, and blown aside until it's misshapen, but it's still standing - and Winter always carries the promise of Spring.

This picture really seems to contain it, though - it looks as if the tree is reaching from the stormy right side into the clear left side, and perhaps that's what causes the impression for me that the hard times can't last forever.
