Excellent. I'm fascinated by mayan carvings, as it seems you are. Great stuff.

When I saw this on you front page, it was the first time I had ever thought about the Mayan reliefs at one point in time having color. I can only remember seeing pictures of them with crumbling weathered stone textures. At the time of their creation, they could have been polished smooth with vibrant colors. Kind of like the Great Pyramids of Egypt. They were, at one time, covered with a smooth shell of brilliant white limestone and topped with a solid gold cap.
I am also getting a very heavy surreal/fantasy/scifi feel from this one. Not because of the description, but from the image itself. Almost an Escher rawness...or Geiger maybe...I dont know. It could be from the PS work...
My Aztec Warrior Queen attacks your Mayan Future Mask. You suffer 9 damage.
Sorry...I couldn't help myself...

Thanks. Did you see the non-PS version? Just curious.

I just took a look again to refresh my memory. This one is much more "grungy" and has more of the darkness of the scifi thing I mentioned earlier. I think thats where I caught the Geiger refference from.
I cant really point out any specific points that are different, as I cant place them side by side for contrast, but This one feels more industrial. Like it hase been in that setting longer as has been used for a longer time.
They are both wonderful pieces, this one just seems to have more history.
