Description
A portrait of Princess Leia, from Star Wars. I always enjoyed the fact the she was a princess but wasn't all frou-frou and girly. Leia could kick butt and sling insults with the best of them! Random fact, but I share my birthday with Carrie Fisher, which I always thought was pretty fun.This was originally drawn with a brown colored pencil on watercolor paper and then I painted a series of ink washes using standard black ink. It gives me a helpful base to work from. I then scanned it and all of the coloring was done in Photoshop with my tablet.

I have been missing Carrie Fisher a lot lately, and found this beautiful portrait in another's favorites here at dA...such a gorgeous portrait of Princess Leia! I couldn't agree more, that she was NOT the girly-girl, though she could glam with the best of them if it was required of her. She could shoot, command and give as good as she got! She was also a woman of incredible integrity--her word was her oath, and she never betrayed her values or honor. The expression here says all of that--a perfect representation of our beloved Leia. Love it so much!
