yes!! This itemΒ has been sold but I have another very similar piece in the works. I have a Facebook page Janski Designs friend my page and you'll see what I'm making sooner than here. Often by the time I get it posted here it's been sold.

I cut my own cabochons and design andΒ create my own SterlingΒ pieces. Prices run from $85 for a simple piece and up for more complex and larger pieces. For example this Labradorite piece sold for $150. The piece is about 2 inches long and the Labradorite cab is about 3/4 inch wide, the White Topaz is 6mm just to give you an idea of it's size. I don't always post the sizes here on DeviantART.Β

Let me know if your interested and I'll make you one.

Yea the fire in that one was nice and even and I got the light to hit the stone just right to show it off the best, got lucky there.....
You do some awesome work yourself, got the kids involved to, that's great.

it's beautiful and it reminds me of a drop of water
how do you make it?
is it welded?

Janski-Designs In reply to Rh1annon [2013-02-26 03:17:35 +0000 UTC]

The stone was hand cut out of rough stone, slabbed into slices than sawed, shaped and domed and polished. The metal drops were soldered, filed, forged, soldered again. The bezel was fitted to the stone soldered to a backing silver, soldered together, the stone than set with the bezel burnished over the stone and the whole thing polished.
I missed a few steps but I think you get the idea....a lots goes into a piece of jewelry.

wow
so much work goes into it
the end piece is worth it though!
i really want to try welding one day though or create my own jewellery as well
does it require a lot physical strength?

No you don't have to be very strong to make jewelry. It does cost quite a bit to get started though, but often you can build into it.
Check your local colleges and park districts often they may have jewelry classes or lapidary depending where you live.
Even if you don't stick with it it doesn't hurt to take a class then you've learned properly and didn't buy all the equipment
