Actually, the whole point of this was because I thought it would be great to draw Naomi like I first did 10 years ago. [link]

it seemed like a nice throwback to my original stuff, back when I was in my high school and college newspapers. Some background on the character as originally intended: she was supposed to be a cool punky/gothy girl that Curt became infatuated with and it turns out she's a lesbian. She was supposed to be portrayed in a completely sex-less manner, by which I mean the complete opposite of the sort of cheesecake way she is now. I'm not really sure how she became pretty much the exacpt opposite of the idea, (though her sarcastic, disaffected personality happily remained) but it wasn't a conscious decision one day to make her a straight, busty pinup girl, it just sort of gradually happened, for better or worse.

In any case, I had a blast drawing this, even though "special effect" panels like panel 2 here take FOREVER and cause me anguish and sorrow while I'm working on it.
