The three panels over curt's head at the end are a nice way of setup, since we see them with his expression the whole time.
Also, great shot of Naomi, looks like her hair grew back in where she was shaving it.

Thanks! I had to come up with a way to kind of transition into the apartment, without using up a bunch of space, and I love playing around with panels, so I'm pretty pleased with myself there, haha.
Yeah, it's growing back!

It's not really a page by page story... I encourage people to read it as a collection of individual, weekly stand alone strips. Some of them do tie together, and I guess it does tell a larger story, but for the most part, each strip is almost like its own little anecdote. I've been thinking about sort of starting to do it as multi-page, long form storytelling, because that's what so many people seem to expect, but I don't know if I have the attention span for that, lol!

I like this design of Ali, as well.
I've always thought of Ali as the antithesis of Naomi.
By the way, that last panel is a riot!
"Mating experience?"
Seriously Naomi, leave the bad puns out of this!

I really needed to get a handle on what I was doing with Ali...she started out as a partygirl, but I've been moving away from that idea into something more of the antithesis on Naomi. Fortunately, she's been used really sparingly in the strip up till now, so changing the concept of her character isn't as "wtf?!' as it would be with more established ones.
I love that last panel. Drawn totally freehand, no reference, and there's no such thing as a bad pun when innuendo is involved!

I'm thinkingβ¦
Maybe it could be said that Ali is a reformed pub crawler.
It's not like she "saw Jesus" or anything, but she's been around the block a few times and hated the view.
She got herself sober and collected; she has a more stable life now.
(An angle on a child-out-wedlock would also a tint of high drama.)
Last panel = AWESOME!

Man, you're too kind...
I was thinking more someone who got kind of a reputation in high school and never really shook it, or did much to shake it. But people do change, all the time, and often a great deal over the years. So I don't know that I'll ever rally go too deeply into a backstory, but it's fun to speculate. Who's to say your scenario isn't true?

You're welcome!
Exactly, Ali is a wildcard as of right now.

I really like the character, it's just been a matter of bringing her in in a way that doesn't overcrowd the strip. There's a lot of characters, and I'd hate for any of them to kind of get shuffled aside (like Chip, I guess...) especially when I like distinctive LOOK of the character so much. The purple hair is just a really strong design element, I feel.

I agree.
It would almost be worth the effort of setting Ali up in a mini-series or one shot to get a better handle on her personal history.
