I want to say that this is in no way a serious criticism of companies like Biolife or the donation of blood. It was just a funny conversation I had with my wife, and I thought it would make an amusing strip.

I wanted Jess to be dressed in white that was so bright there was no detail, like the opposite of how I draw Curt's black clothing. I guess I was thinking almost an angelic look, but the end result just looks kind of incomplete and weird. Eh, you try new things, some work, some don't!

Speaking of new things, last week I switched from an iPhone to a Windows phone (I know, blasphemy for me) since iOS is not exactly impressing me these days, and I wanted to upgrade my Mac to Lion so it would play nice with my new gadget. Well, upgrading to the new OS rendered PhotoShop and MS Office unusable, since my versions are so old they require Rosetta to run, no longer supported by Apple. I thought maybe Manga Studio and GIMP could substitute it, but it was pretty clear I was gonna need to revert to a backup of my Snow Leopard setup. 7 hours later, and my obsolete desktop was restored, much to my relief!

Not having the means to make my art was a pretty awful feeling for me, though. I can't afford a new version of PhotoShop legally, and I'm a pretty big believer in the respect of intellectual properties, since I wouldn't want people ripping my shit off, and I just do it as a hobby, for no compensation! So until the restore was successful, I was pretty cranky.

Happy ending, though! Plus, I really dig my new phone, even if I have to link it to my wife's laptop instead of my own computer.
