Description Question by ~VicViper407 .

Your username led to this kind of an answer, ~VicViper407 ! I'm a fan of the Gradius series as well!
Though this pic in particular was inspired by the spin-off, Otomedius.

I'd like to work on this in better detail later on (but not before the other responses are done). I was able to get the special edition of Otomedius Excellent, and the bonus art book and soundtrack provides great references and BG music for working on this pic!

Heh-heh, wether it happens to be Gradius, Otomedius, Life Force (Salamander), or any other SHUMP game series out there that happens to feature this memorable craft, one thing is always certain, and that is that there are some VERY entertaining times (and not to mention MUSIC ) in store for sure !

And of course, with Cyberia Heart in the fold, those good times can only become more and more awesome and bring so much MORE joy and light to the hearts of all around with the addition of the wonderful adorableness of your sweet cybernetic pony now present within! ^^

And I have to say, this awesomely clever answer and complementing artwork that you came up with here REALLY made me smile. The awesome way you were able to combine the sweet elements of the asker's question AND their username theme is another shining example of the creative GENIUS that resides within you. However, I have to admit, I think that, eventually, it will get to the point that I won't be able to play ANY Konami game out there without having my thoughts drift towards your supremely lovely artistic creations. Of course, you won't hear me complaining at ALL, pall! Haha

Thanks to both you, Jdan, and your fantastically sweet digital pony for bringing another exceptionally bright ray of sunshine to my day!

The Vic Viper's popped up in a lot of places outside of SHMUPs. It's been in the Famicom platformer Wai Wai World, an unlockable character in Konami Krazy Racers, as cards in Yu-Gi-Oh (the abridged series has grown on me ), and even in the anime Sky Girls, whose theme song "Baby's Tears" appears in DDR as sung by Kosaka Riyu! You're right, there's always entertaining times and music wherever the Vic Viper has been!

Otomedius had strong mecha musume vibes, what with the cast representing all kinds of ships from Konami. Being mechanical herself, and with the light-hearted nature of the game, crossing over Cyberia with Otomedius just seemed like a good idea!

And funny you should mention associating ponies with all things Konami. Thus far, I've done Castlevania, the BEMANI series and Gradius. You just reminded me that I also have a Metal Gear parody buried somewhere in my que. But of course, I'll be working on your "Ask Cyberia Heart" question first!

I'm focused on the first batch of questions right now, but this is actually relevant to one of the answers and I think it can be included as a follow-up question.

Awww she's totally adorable in her otomedius form : ) <3, Shoot the core, Cyberia heart! ^_^. I heard of Otomedius, I always did wanted to get that game, it's just pretty hard to find where I am xD. It's an honor to meet another Gradius fan though : D. Thank you for answering my question : D.

Glad you liked it!

Otomedius Excellent is okay, overall. Admittedly, it's a bit on the easy side and there's shameless fanservice all over, but anyone who's familiar with the Gradius series and other Konami IPs will like the shout-outs and cameos. For instance, the first boss is based on the Cat Battleship from Parodius!

Just found a copy in one of my random visits to our local game shop. Since it was the special edition and SHMUPs are hard enough to find as it is, I picked it up!

Ah gradius, I remember spending years on that game, only coming back years later to finally conquer it.

I was trained on touhou by then.

I have the Gradius Collection on PSP, I load it up every now and then when in the mood for some side-scrolling SHMUP action! Though I've yet to 1cc any of the games in the collection!

Really need to give the Touhou series a few more tries sometime. In the meantime, I'm still trying to figure out how play for score in CAVE shooters! I'm still a novice when it comes to SHMUPs, but I enjoy the genre nonetheless!

Heh, I guess I inherited a bit of my mum's ability, she used to spend a lot of time on shooters when she was younger. She once boasted about a big score on an older game, I finally got a copy and smashed it to pieces.

I'm not good, no not a chance, especially not after an accident, but I'm not terrible either. I can put up a fight in most any shooter.
