Description

In my fanfic-verse, a few more people are recruited into the Ferelden Grey Wardens just before, during and after the events of Awakening. These are all canon characters, but canonically, only two are confirmed to have joined the Grey Wardens.

From left to right:

Rolan of Greenfell (Warrior, Templar, greatsword) - a Templar who felt the urge to join the Grey Wardens after his Chantry was destroyed by darkspawn. Reluctantly allowed into the order as part of a deal to end the Chantry's protestations over Anders joining the Wardens. While Alim was away in Amgarrak, Rolan attempted to kill Anders when he learned that he had merged with Justice and become an abomination. Anders slew him and then fled to Kirkwall.

Nolan of Amaranthine (Rogue, Ranger, axe & dagger) - mentioned in World of Thedas, Volume 2, as a criminal in Vigil's Keep who knew Mhairi and joined the Grey Wardens a week after her failed Joining.

Moira (Mage, Blood Mage, staff) - a blood mage from the quest Broken Circle whom the player can spare or kill depending on their choices.

Jacen (Rogue, Ranger, bow) - a Dalish elf imprisoned by the Amaranthine city guard, only encountered in-game if the player sides with the smugglers. If met, he can be persuaded to go to Vigils Keep, and if the player chooses to save Vigil's Keep, he will take part in the defense.

Seweryn of Orzammar (Warrior, Berserker, axe and shield): the first opponent faced in the Proving in the quest "A Paragon of Her Kind". Expresses interest in-game of joining the Grey Wardens. Jumped at the chance when he learned that the Wardens were recruiting after the Blight.

Adalbo of Orzammar (Warrior, Berserker, battleaxe): the second opponent faced in the Proving in the Dwarf Commoner origin. Described in the toolset as an "honorable dwarf", and viewed in-game as favoured by the Ancestors. Since his defeat by Natia during the Dwarf Commoner origin, he is plagued by doubts as to whether or not he still has the Ancestors' favour, especially after being defeated by a casteless bruiser. Just before the Amaranthine crisis, Adalbo approached Natia during one of his visits and challenged him to a fight, right there and then. Defeated once more, Adablo conceded that Natia was a worthy opponent and asked to join the Grey Wardens as a way to regain the Ancestors' favour.

Aller Bemot (Warrior, Berserker, maul): the first opponent faced in the Proving in the Dwarf Noble origin. Described in the toolset as a "respectful young warrior" and "the son of a champion, but he's not arrogant about it." Between Bhelen's coronation and just before the Amaranthine crisis, Aller was encouraged by his father to join the Grey Wardens as an insurance policy for House Bemot.
