"Philosophy are questions that may never be answered. Religion are answers that may never be questioned."

I disagree. I think more to the point is that some answers just aren't worth the effort expended in finding them.

exactly, which brings me back to my original point; some answers are worth the effort expended in finding them.

And then there's religion, the universal (but wrong) answer.

A shame that some will exploit the plethora of answerless questions to fill in what ever answers please them regardless if they are true or not. Then they kill in their name.

Ah yes, the appeal to ignorance - the bastion of any religion.

Kind of like "what's the meaning of life"? XD
Still, you're right about that :3 There are some questions where, unfortunately, there are no answers to Although the answer to every why question could easily be "because you touch yourself at night" XD

The meaning of life is ART. Or more specifically... To create, and to advance.

No need to thank me.

I suppose you're right, or maybe the meaning of life is to pursue whatever your passion is, or find your passion.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zimriver In reply to Natural--20 [2011-05-03 04:23:17 +0000 UTC]

No you're right, not in English and sadly I'm not fluent in any other language yet to say if it has a proper rhyme elsewhere. Either way, no proper rhyme still answers the question.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Natural--20 In reply to Zimriver [2011-05-03 15:26:38 +0000 UTC]

some questions do not have answers

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zimriver In reply to Natural--20 [2011-05-03 19:34:24 +0000 UTC]

still disagree. Some questions answers, however, are subjective and may not be able to be proven, but they can certainly be answered. Like I said, sometimes answers are probably not worth the effort put in to finding them.

One question I know is
where the hell is my sock...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zimriver In reply to Natural--20 [2011-05-04 03:49:44 +0000 UTC]

your sock is most likely in the last place you're likely to look. The answer doesn't have to be specific or correct even, but there's still an answer.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Natural--20 In reply to Zimriver [2011-05-04 15:12:20 +0000 UTC]

Good point.
The answer can even be
"What the hell have YOU been smoking?"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zimriver In reply to Natural--20 [2011-05-04 21:36:07 +0000 UTC]

thanks. Indeed it could, though that sounds more like a reply than an answer, but that's going into semantics.

Then how, why, where, what caused the big bang?

👍: 0 ⏩: 3

yournamehere8888 In reply to JediSenshi [2011-05-02 06:31:38 +0000 UTC]

For any possible ways of "how" check an enchyclopedia.
Why? The time was ripe, perhaps? Or maybe there is no why it was just something that happened by chance.
Where? I sure as hell don't know but since we are here it's bound to have happened somewhere.
What caused it? Many things come to mind. Maybe a great chain of events caused it or maybe it was by something random that just happened.

(Of course all these might qualify for answers if you accept that theory.)

Still, we are here, no? So, there is an answer as to how. We don't know it. Who knows if we ever will, but it exists. I don't believe that something doesn't exist simply because we don't know about it.
