Description
Worked on it between two different comic pages (so I don't fall behind in my commissions) -Innocent Loki, with avenging hair and chains (mash up!). You can check out the drawing phases video on my YouTube here .

Thank you for your kind words, I really did enjoy painting his eye and I guess that really shows here. I was expecting someone to call me out on the lack of detail on the chains though, I know I could have refined those a lot more the hands as well. But I just reached this point and really liked it as is, not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

I will always see Loki as innocent. He is just a victim to how he was raised. The eyes you drew here perfectly summon up the way i see him. He would tried to be the perfect son, the perfect choose to be king but in the end he would never be good enough for 'his father'. The father which I believe is more evil than seen in the movies anything like that. Odin just wanted to control him, the son of his greatest enemy. This reality that Loki had to face broke him and I don't blame him for going a crazy.

Glad you liked the piece. And yeah its really sad... I can actually related to some of that though really, sometimes when you try to do good things, it gets blown back in your face (which devastating especially when you're trying hard, plus no one can hurt you, like a person who you love). His tale that's that to the extreme of course, but still its a lot of compelling complexities that make him so favorable in the fan base. You just don't get that kind of depth with Iron Man for example, but heck... We still love the sassy.

This is incredibly beautiful both from a purely appearance standpoint and a symbolic/storytelling standpoint.
The detail in the painting is awesome--especially in his eyes. They're wonderfully gorgeous in their detail and that bright blue is instantly captivating and stands out from the rest of the picture, drawing one's focus there immediately. Also, I'm glad that you gave him his proper eye color; most people draw movie!Loki's eyes as green because his comics form has green eyes, but they are definitely blue in the films.
From a story standpoint, it's also amazing. You've drawn young Loki, from back when he was relatively innocent (relatively... he was still quite the schemer at the start of the first film), but in the chains he'll earn from his terrible descent into villainy... It's almost like he's having a vision of the future and being terrified of what he'll become.

When I started out, it was my goal to mix him with all the stages of his transformation throughout the films. But seeing it as a vision of the future is far more poetic, bless you. -As for the eye color yeah I wanted to stay true to that, while I do think Tom's eyes change color, in the end they seem to almost always be blue.

And yeah, seeing various pictures of Tom I've noticed that his eye color always seems to change, even when he's not in character. In videos from interviews I've seen his eyes look every color from blue to green to brown, but for the most part they seem to be blue.

Yeah I loved the more innocent side of Loki's character, very vulnerable and sweet, before he became corrupted. Although the witty mischievous, slightly arrogant, Loki he's grown into is also a lot of fun, the evolution of the character is among my favorites in a long time. Very multidimensional.
