Description
One of my friends made the idiotic observation that faeries can only be little girls with butterfly wings. I promptly did a series of drawings to prove her wrong. This was one of them.Edit: this was done in colored pencils on white cardstock, and the copyright is in place now because of the constant thefts of my art. Please do not ask me to remove it, it will not happen.

I agree with you. Fairies/Faeries don't have to have wings and be little girls. these are beautiful. I'd buy it if I had any money.

very nice indeed. fairy is wonderful. Would love to be patient enough to spot one of these in the garden, but I'm too clobbery and noisy.
sometimes I wish I would have stayed in my other field so I could afford little wonders on paper like this. interested in a trade?

snakes r one of my fav animals. i own a bunch of them. to mix the concept of snakes and faeries is truly unique, like so much of ur other work. job well done

I love this, it really is a play on that idea. Is she supposed to look like a slug? Either way she is one of my favorite representations of a faerie, EVER.

It's like a garden snake. ^.^ That's so cool, especially since faeries are simply magical beings. They aren't all little girls. Take the banshee for example, that's a faery, but it doesn't have butterfly wings.

well I'm trying to make the copyrights something that aren't too noticable.... but aren't too easy to get rid of without ruining the image. *sigh* so far nothing but ugly blaring copyrights has worked. I'll figure it out.

Each fairy is different, no two the same. Nor are they common. Tell her to check out some books by Brian Froud on fairies.
