Description This the latest (and probably final, at least for now) version of my Star Trek TOS-era civilian shuttlecraft. For the reasoning behind its design please see the previous WIP [link]

I've angled the wings/pylons up a little and adjusted the position of the warp engines so that they sit higher. This is meant to make the engine position look a little bit more like that of the Enterprise, i.e. a bit more 'Trek'.

I've given it a wheeled undercarriage (as suggested by BigTallDude) since it is both practical and makes it look like older technology than the Starfleet shuttlecraft. The wheel wells could use more detail, but they will hardly be visible in most renders so it will do for now.

I changed the shape of the back door because I realised that the original trapezoidal door was too wide at the bottom for it to slide open fully, given the limited amount of space inside the ship. The new shape looks better anyway.

I deliberately picked a rather plain font for the registration, as I wanted it to look practical and functional rather than funky and futuristic. The font is called Roadway and can be downloaded from K-Type [link] .

I was going to do more (e.g. change the headlights, add sensors and comms aerials), but that can all wait for another day. Now I want to start using it.

I di like the re-designed door...I don't knoiw if you're familiar with Horatio Hornblower but when he boarded his first ship he paid for passage (if I remember correctly) could some young midshipman running behind have hired such a craft for himself & his "dunnage"?

Glad you like the door. I've never read the Hornblower novels so I'm afraid the rest of your comment left me all at sea

Elegant & practical (though I don't think you'll have finished them until the taxi one gets some kind of advertising board on the top). If you ever do decide to return to the model & do more, I'd put some kind of venting thing somewhere on the nacells, maybe a heatsink along part of the side or a grille at the back - safety first! Aside from that, looking excellent!

You're right, the warp engines are crying out for some vents or something similar. It's one of those nice-to-have-but-not-absolutely-necessary things that will have to wait until I'm in the right mood, which could be next week or next year. Still, I'm glad you like it.

I always like your stuff - it's always excellent. I just like to make suggestions if you ask for them (& sometimes when you don't).
