I dig the whole inferno color scheme, it's very smooth and works very well with the composition.
Also dig the striped cityscape on the planet, funky twist.
Nice one mate!

Stunning work. This is beautiful. I love the choice of colors--not so common in space art I've seen.

Cool background as ever but I dont like the city lights on that planet, they are too clean cut and neat and dont really do the planets curvature any favours they make it look flat. Also something that works quite well for me is using a contrasting blue light when red light or a yellow light is used, a blue flare or haze around the light source can give it a quite nice effect, might be something to mess around with later on perhaps.

Well it doesnt suck so dont remove it haha, anyway yeah the circle thing is hard to do, maybe using a 3D software package might work. But as for the blue light thing it should make the image look more realistic as in reality the flare from a light is often of the oposite colour, but not always.

I love this everything in this piece except the abrubt ending citylights/lavacircles on the planet. On the other hand taking it away could make the piece more boring. I would replace it with something of the same style, but smoother.

I love it, the colors ant the lighting are amazing!
Just a little question: can you explain me in a few words how do you create those nice ship trails?

JoeyJazz In reply to DottGonzo [2009-04-28 15:25:54 +0000 UTC]
well - there are many ways how to create them - try the combination - path, brush, fade...
