These are great little tutorials you've written! It's very clear how well you understand the why and not just the how. I've done very, very little in the way of digital painting (mostly photo manipulations and sketches) and I'll definitely be referring back to these as I explore it more.

Yes! Exactly! I've run in to that trying to tutor classmates in my programming classes. Getting people to understand why you do something is sometimes much harder than getting them to understand how. I felt that your tutorials helped get readers to that point. I pressed the favorite button not just because the content will help me in some projects I'm starting, but also because I admired the presentation.

For the textured soft round brush: Simply check the 'noise' in the brush settings, or was that a particular brush?

Correct, it is the regular soft brush with the "noise" modifier enabled, nothing fancy

Thank you for posting this! As a digital lover I myself have ran into the photoshop streak problem! Mostly when I first started out doing color and blending realistic skin sure is problematic!
