Indeed! I think I can stand the earlier little chubby monkey Mega Man designs more (Though I still think Mega Man IV is where the art picked up nicely.) than the craziness the U.S. come up with!

This is wonderful. Only one nitpick though, the Megaman in the middle should have his gun at an awkward angle, as in an angle that makes you think he doesn't know what he's doing with that thing! As for the third one, I think he took the visor from a character "Krys", in Rainbow Brite, who wore a similar helmet (and had a robot horse that has a "Rush Jet" type form) And both Captain N and Rainbow Brite were done by DIC animation, so maybe there's something there!

Hehehe, well the gun was in that position since in the old box-art, Mega Man really was that stiff-armed.

And yeah, I'm sure they got inspiration from Rainbow Brite there! Then again, they kind of based the characters off their box art and manual designs. Mechanical Maniacs had a whole theory behind his appearance on the show: [link]
