You could, if you know how too, make the codes and animations for Microsoft Train Sim and sell that. And drive it in a game. But eng files can be hard enough.

I work for a railroad, and its well done, only things missing are back hood doors and the bell isn't located in the nose, its by the fuel tank on the fireman's side. looks like a GP35 with bittendorft trucks.
pretty good

Hey thanks for your comment

The photo that I was using as reference had the bell in the nose.
Do you have or know where I can get more hi res photo reference images?

As a railfan, I'm impressed.

Everything is there pretty much, it's textured very well for the most part.

Looks like a GP35 four-axle locomotive.

Hey, it's a TSBY engine! These drive by where I work every day. In fact, I've started building a scale model of number 394. The only thing I notice that seems out of place is the numbers on cab. They should be bolder and don't match the number on the back of the engine. Apart from that, it really looks great. If you need any reference pics, let me know, I've got a directory just for TSBY pics

I've always though of modeling a train myself and this brings back that thought.Like tigaer said, ppl are just doing cars and there getting old.I really like this.....you did a fantastic job on this.Nice blurring on the back drop as well.

I like it but I think it needs to be dirtier and more dented... as it is it seems to perfect. Great render job though especially if it's only your third!

nonweasel [2004-04-24 22:03:53 +0000 UTC]

On thing you might try is adding more detail to the sides in the rear. Real locomotives are covered with doors and vents and whatnot. If you cant find a refrence I might have a photo of a locomotive for you to check out if you want... send me a message.

Really good work, appreciate it!

A layman like me can only give suggestions on realism; The train looks damn real, but the bottom (the dark/black parts, how do you call'em?) needs more dirt / grunge / whatever - it looks too unnatural (all IMHO, of course).

Good work, keep it up!
