Description Photo from Jökulsárlón, a glacial lagoon in Southern Iceland.

I love the blue color of some of the icebergs. The blackened ones are cool, too, 'cause they're preserving volcanic ash from eruptions.

Ah: Jöjulsárlón! What a wonderful place. I have fond memories of visiting it! Still have to upload some photos of it. I think I have a similar type of photo with a Skua on top of the iceberg.

I hopw we will be able to see such glacial "giants" in future as well, it's always fascinating how the blue can look like marble. Definetely one of my favourites!
By the way, you got an eye for great photos.

The tiny gull really emphasizes the size of the glaciers. That is so beautiful... And the bird is so cute! Really nice photo.

The gull is probably playing "King of the hill"

Also the iceberg on the right looks more like it has sand rather than ashes.(The ashes never got that far in an amount able to cover the icebergs but it can be ashes from the 2004 eruption)

Takk. It makes sense that it would be sand on that one. ^_^

One lonely little gull... but he's king of the mountain!

...well, iceberg, anyway.

Beautiful photo. Makes me think: what is this gull feeling? Probably very small.

I know. And just think... this is an iceberg, so 90% of it is below water.

I don't know how the gull felt, but I felt very very small at the base of that glacier.
