Very impressive! Was this the first time you folded it or did you have a couple practice folds? And I sympathize with you about taking a good photo... once I was on dA for a while and seeing the quality of everyone else's work, I started to get a little into photography as well. It's helped a bit. So don't worry, the photo element will come with time.

And tissue-foil? I've used foil paper on many occasions but haven't heard of tissue-foil. Is it just what it sounds like? Where did you get it from or do you have a link to order it online? I've got way too much paper as is but it's nice to know your options.

lol lots of questions...^_^

this was just about the second time i think. the first successful one was out of a 9" piece of kami, or standard origami paper. and tissue foil is very simple to make, people don't sell it (but they ought to). you basically get a sheet of tin-foil, spray some spray-adhesive onto it, put some tissue paper onto it, and let it dry (preferably putting tissue paper on both sides). there are some flaws to it, but if you're looking to add some detail and character to a model, this kind of paper is for you.

you should definitely try making some and folding something hard with it. ^_^

Oh! Ok. I've done something like that but just two normal pieces to get a two tone. Tissue is difficult to fold since it doesn't keep a crease and foil is the opposite. It's difficult to fold well since it keeps a crease... putting the two together is a good idea. I will be trying this. Thanks for the idea! dA is great for this.

Tissue foil is a sheet of tissue paper bonded to a sheet of aluminum foil. And Satoshi Kamiya's Bahamut is 1 square sheet, no cutting, gluing, or altering it in any way...well, it's just semantics, but for display, if you're using a paper that isn't going to stay in place forever, and needs to be out for days and days, months or years even, you should coat the inside with glue to reinforce it, but that's it, glue is used only for finished display models.

the model stands from feet to top of wings to be about 4 inches tall, and the paper i used was tissue foil. it took me about 4 hours to make too :9
