Description 2014- German citizens riot on the streets of Berlin, robbing stores and causing mass mayhem. After the rioting subsided, the value of the EU euro fell far bellow its origional worth. The euro was made to raise the value of Europe's currency, and in the end it caused the whole of Europe to suffer instead of just the countries immediatly affected.
2016- The EU filed for bankcruptcy and entered an economic depression. Russia, and other countries immiediatly surrounding the EU, also suffered.
2017-2022- Turkey withdrew from its proposal to join the EU in favor of Middle Eastern countries. Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Herbia, Russia, and Armenia joined the EU to raise the value of their own low currencies.
2025- 79% of Australians vote to become a full republic and annex Papua New Guinea and New Zealand to form the Republic of Australia, becoming more distant from European politics. Canada and the USA begin plans to "revive" Europe.
2025-2046- The USA and Canada work together to help the EU in any way they can. Denmark sells Greenland to the USA as a territory to increase the value of the euro(2033). Great Britain and other European powers cede Caribbean territories to the US to further positive relations.
2047- After the assassination of the Mexican president and hostile takeover by local gang leaders, US officials declare war on the new Mexican government. The local militias are defeated and the Northern Mexican states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa, Chihuahua, Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, and Tamaulipas are annexed by the US. This increased US production, leveled the value of the US dollar, and increased the number of US states to 61.
2049- Yucatan seceded from Mexico. The first Mormon president of the US grants Utah officials the right to change the state's title to "Deseret".
2050- The failed nation of Haiti is administered to the US as a territory and Puerto Rico becomes the 62nd state of the Union.
2052- Dominican Republic is administered as a US territory and the newly created Greenland states of Narsaq and Nuuk become the 63rd and 64th states of the Union. US relations with Cuba begin to falter as the US gains more territory in the Caribbean and Central America.
2054- Haiti and Santo Domingo become the 65th and 66th states of the Union. After a series of covert attacks in Florida, Cuban officials state that "war will come if America takes one more step".
2055- Cuba delcares war on the US in the hopes that China and the Middle East will provide aid. They don't.
2056- Cuba is defeated and becomes two separate US territories; Cuba and Havana.
2061- The newly created Greenland state of Umanak becomes the 67th state of the Union.
2062- The newly created Greenland states of Massalik and Aver-thule become the 68th and 69th states of the Union.
2067-2074- The USA and Canada successfully "revive" the EU's economy.
2075- The USA annexes Canada, increasing the number of states to 79 and 3 former Canadian territories. The country's title is changed to the United States of North America as not to offend former Canadian citizens.
2076- The state of British Columbia is split into two separate states; Columbia and Cascadia, to help dissipate British influence in North America. Cascadia becomes the 80th state of the Union.
2077-2081- Yukon, Victoria(Northwest Territory) and Nunavut become the 81st, 82nd, and 83rd states of the Union.
2085- Havana and Cuba become the 84th and 85th states of the Union.
2089- ...

Why is Greenland so many states? They hardly have the population for one.

In all of my genius, I figured that many disadvantaged Americans would move there in the future to extract resources to fuel the growing economy. It doesn't actually make that much sense, so don't put too much thought into it.Β

Now that is one Empire-like USA !

I am suprised there're so many states at Greenland and Cuba

But Δ±ts good they managed to reduce the number of states at Former Mexico

Greenland was kinda me messin' around, thinking that there would be a mass migration of disenfranchised Americans looking for work in the raw resource industry. Cuba is pretty highly populated, so splitting it east-west would have made administration easier, especially in the future. What do you mean by "Former Mexico"?Β

So Population is the key of makin' more & more States !

I mean former Mexico lands; I see there's a smaller Mexico in this Timeline (Or a Mexico Republic?) so I think It lost some sort of War

Yeah. Technically, there only needs to be 60,000 people to create a new state, but these days it isn't that easy.

I don't really remember what happened with Mexico. At this point, I'm more convinced that the Aztlan Movement or Reconquista would be more realistic.

That was really much lesser than I was expecting; that much of people can't even make a City !

The Δ°nvasion like Movements only make them Worse... Especially agaisnt a country like USA Β

Nevermind, I found that part in the description about Utah. That's kind of funny.

This is interesting. I was writing some story (just for fun) placed about this far in the future and I was kind of wondering what America would look like then.
Question: Why is Utah now Deseret?
Question: If you don't mind me asking, to which political affiliation do you belong? If you don't wish to talk about it, that's fine

Cool map

Deseret being the proposed US state by Mormon settlers, has been ignored and abused by the US government, it is also a separatist movement still alive today. I believe that by then we will have had at least one US president who is Mormon and those demands might finally be meet

Im a little young to care about politics and I like to think of myself as somewhere between socialist and whatever you think is stereotypical to Texans

That's very interesting. I noticed "Deseret" on a few of your other maps, too. I had been wondering about that.

Hmm. As a Mormon I find this intriguing. I guess I haven't lived in Utah long enough to know much about the politics and future of the state, but that is a good insight. Who knows, perhaps it will be this election that turns out a Mormon president!

Haha. I know how you feel. I just turned eighteen and then I realized that I should probably know the issues because I'm going to be voting this year! Yikes.
As for stereotypical Texans... you love the 2nd Amendment?

Even though Im a baptist, I think the best option right now is a Mormon president
Surprisingly, my familly doesnt own a gun, and neither do any of the people I know. Im sure that plenty of people in the "Ghetto" have guns but theyre not exactly stereotypical Texans.

Why would Canada agree to annexation? As a Canadian, who knows and has spoken to other Canadians on this, I can't see us doing this, especially without some very pressing motivation. Same goes for Australia/NZ/PNG, I think there needs to be more clean cut reason behind their union.
For instance, when the Canadian provinces confederated, there were many benefits to each of the members, such as economic growth, mutual defense and such, but those were always there as reasons to unite. The thing that actually made us stop squabling and get off our collective ass was the American Civil War, and subsequent threats of annexation made by the North during.

To put it simply, mutual benefit and united front

SPARTAN-127 In reply to KantiaCartography [2012-03-04 03:47:40 +0000 UTC]

Ok, but a common front against what? Thats the kind of thing you need to state implicitly in the timline I think. Sometimes something that is implied needs to be implicitly stated so dense people like me can understand.

I didnt put it in the timeline because it doesnt happen in the timeline. This whole story is bascically leading to the 2nd space race of the 22nd century between the USNA, UNI, EU, and UNI. United front against terrorism if you will
