Yes, I drove to the Ohio side of the river for the first time to shoot these. It was a good angle for a change.

wow! what an amazing capture! i love the colors of these fireworks. yesterday we watched the fireworks at Lake Flower which is almost an hour away from us.

The water helps but to me, the best aspect of this shot is the apparent proximity to the ground.
By including a good chunk of dim land and ground lights, you've given the fireworks a truer sense of scale, without detracting from thre aerial display.

The dynamic range of scenes like this are vast, few if any cameras can capture them without some under and over exposure. It is really a question of balancing what you will under expose and what you will over expose. I think it is well done especially given what you were working with.
