Bill, I don't want to be the guy to break this to you but... Starbuck probably helped them and dragged poor Lee along for the ride because he didn't want her to do it alone and probably get killed, poor, helpless fracker that he is around her. Those two have always been kind of like that.
On the flip side, the Tau'ri are very interested in mass-producing Battlestars, Vipers and Raptors, so maybe this isn't a total loss...
