I'd like to add one important thing, if I may: You draw a lot of the component forms/shapes of the torso smooshing into each other with perfectly horizontal boundaries. That doesn't look very natural, it looks almost robotic. The inorganic look is particularly noticeable on the big girl's torso. Having them be tilted (such as lower in the front, higher in the back) looks much more organic and natural. Varying the angles adds an extra degree of variation, too!
The basic idea in this tutorial is an important one and you've made it easy to follow, but I feel like without making note of the angles between the shapes, you're missing half the story. Although in this tutorial the lack of tilt variation is most visible in the torso, it can work at almost any part of the body (some are just more limited than others for the sake of still looking like human anatomy).

As I said, it's only a starting juncture. It's not an end all be all. It's meant more for beginners. That said, there are other great tutorials out there to talk about body shapes, including this by onone-chan andΒ this one by Makoyana .
This tutorial is also a little old. However, at some point in the future I would like to make one for gesture lines, pelvis tilt, and toerh unique elements of the human body.
Thank you for your feedback.

I agree, along with the fact that when it comes to weight differences, folds of the body fall differently than one who doesn't have as many folds. Though I'm glad that the artist is aware of different shapes within people. I hope that this continues to improve.Β

It will! I'll be addressing folds of the body and body shapes again in future tutorials. However, coelasquid did a good job of illustrating that in male muscles and bodies at this tutorial .

I'd rather see it in your art than in a tutorial, but thank you.

I"m glad to see someone else cares about this! Variety is too hard to come by.

It really is! I'm still trying to improve over time, especially since I realized one of my projects have characters with body types that look too similar to each other.

Nice tutorial! Always happy to see people trying more than one body shape!
