Beautiful and unique. Kind of like an updated revisiting of art deco?

I'm awesome at creating mistakes since I tend going around them and improvising. Awesome collective insights though, that I just collected. My head is smoldering. d( '.').

There's something honestly awesome about 'improvised mistakes though', just the unapologetic honesty and rawness yknow!

I absolutely love the contrast between the simplicity of the lines and the complex texture of the hair. Absolutely amazing, though yet disturbing. Or maybe, it's even better because of it!

Thank you! Aw man that is such an awesome comment to read. I think just in general, my watercolour works get a little strange and disturbing though haha

It really does, I'm constantly saying something that I don't realise is connected to art and my friends just look at me like 'there she goes again!' D: I only have one friend that I've met on here who's from Australia and she's 6 hours away from me still.
I wondered where you were from and checked your page, woops creeper alert sorry xD I didn't realise you were an Aussie!! It really isn't popular here at all. I'm lucky enough that there's been a few prevalent artists from my hometown, but it's still not popular and people can still weird about it. :/
What about art exhibits? I've never been to one before, hoping to go to my first next January if I can somehow bum a lift off someone xD I'm not sure where they'd advertise to in the city, probably the newspaper but event halls and stuff too?? I don't really know... It could be something to look into though?

Yes, literally every subject concerning arts; music, acting, creating of any kind, just have such small communities compared to the rest of the world. Do you get a lot of negative reactions when you tell people you're an artist? Art is more of a hobby for me, writing is what I really want to do and when I tell people that they're like, 'You mean journalism?' and when I say no they're like 'And what kind of real job are you going to get?' I HATE that term, 'real job' I just fell like saying yeah good for you go that's great and walking away xD It's gotten to the point where I don't really tell anyone what I want to do when they ask anymore.
Art festivals are a good place to start. I'm not sure what state you're in, I'm assuming you're near Sydney/Melbourne? I'm probably really wrong woops sorry bout that Start with a google search for art festivals or exhibits near your town/closest city.
Keep an eye out in newspapers too, and flyers on event centres. Wine vineyards and centres are usually popular with exhibits, at least in Adelaide they are. Pretty much any place that has function rooms and a bar xD
As for someone to go with, you don't know, maybe one of your friends won't mind tagging along. I have a friend who doesn't make art herself but is really keen on going to exhibits. If not, well it's the perfect place to meet other artists, so go stag and hope for the best xD

ARGH I HATE THAT ONE SO MUCH
they're like, oh so you don't know what to do so you're just wasting your time huh? NO. GO AWAY YOU SAD MISERABLE LITTLE PERSON AND LET ME LIVE HOW I WANT TO THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
I hate the term 'real job' so much. Like what is their definition of a real job? Wasting your life away doing something you hate? Life is way too short to be doing that and forgetting your dreams. No thank you.
You just said it perfectly, validation. It's like we have to become famous all over the world or make millions just to prove ourselves worthy. People don't have to validate their work unless they're in a field in the arts, it's pathetic.
So I just did a quick google search and I found this www.thatsmelbourne.com.au/What… It's coming up in Jan-Feb next year. It's not solely visual art, there are performances and stuff, but that way you'll probably have a greater chance at roping friends into going with you xD I also found this site www.melbournefestival.com.au/ you can search events by genre, so you can look for visual art events coming up in Melbourne (I think that's the way it works anywho). I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled for news on Melbourne for you though, I generally just listen out for stuff going on in Adelaide because that's where I'm closest to, but I've definitely heard about bigger things going on in Melbourne and Sydney.
The problem is advertising. There are things going on, but they're only advertised in certain circles, which cuts off a whole group of possible participants and business from people who are actually interested but don't know where to look. It's silly.
