My watercolour work tends to be so dark and gloomy, so I tried to brighten it up a bit and make it more alive and colorful... Yet it still ended up having that subtle dark and sombreness to it... I tried.
I feel like I'm definitely becoming a lot more free and loose with my watercolour paintings. I've progressed from painting completely in lines, to being able to paint purely and expressively with complete freedom, and that excites me a little. I want to continue exploring watercolours and other traditional media too, maybe even incorporating inks and charcoal.

I can't explain it, it's hard and it's weird and kinda a mushy feeling, but it makes me so happy. I guess the fact that you're here saying, 'where have you been!', makes me feel kinda like I matter to someone out there, yknow? And to come back and read this over it makes me so happy. Honestly.
Well to me, there's a difference in followers I think. Theres the kind that just follow somebody for the sake of simply liking or enjoying their work, and then there's followers like you:
The kind who care. The kind who actually resonate and take the time to connect. Yknow, the kind you see on all the youtube comments talking about how much they love this person or this artist or this celebrity etc. The kind who actually make you feel so fricken worthwhile and give you the best friggen feeling.
Never would I imagine that I'd be able to have someone like that care about my work that much. Thats why that little 'where have you been' hits me in the feels. ykno!

I feel music, I don't know why, but I see a jazz singer, and several of her band members are seen in her colorful "hair" Jazz can be dark and somber, so maybe that's why. Her eyes are amazing, and this has to be my favorite of your pieces. Nicely done!

So beautiful! I love the addition of the white accent lines (gel pen?) and the colored pencil around her nose, especially. Also love the warm/cool balance of the watercolors. So nice.

Yup, it's gel pen! I kind of want to try a different white-highlighting media, maybe gouache possibly! Awrgh, I'm so glad you liked it!!
