This is one of the most influential themes in Anime and it splits into a multitude of manias, from sailor uniform fetish down to lolikon (lolita complex). Nearly no Anime or manga can go without them, so here is my dreamy share on the subject! ^_^

I have been reading the developer's materials, but it's very vague and spread out. Funny they ask me to "buy" my user name - that's a 1st time ever... I still don't understand how things work, or what is a "sticker". All I wanted was to find a reference to create their avatars, and instead they push me basic 3DSMAX modeling lessons. It's kinda frustrating...

I used a better program to render the scene, so you can see this version is much sharper and has shadows too. I also changed the Winter socks to match with the Summer uniform. ^^

This one is definitely better than the first one. Colours aren't so sickly.

I actually used a different program to render this scene because I wanted to have some better skin tones for the characters and also better lighting/shadows. In the end, neither Poser or Vue would support sub-surface scattering, so I had to tweak the materials by hand. Did you notice how smooth their skins are? As for the Pocky box, who on Earth can resist it? Resistace is futile!! (")^w^(")

Thanks, I think the new colors worked better.
I also changed the uniform socks and the lighting model.
For the 1st version of this pic, FireFly did more damage than benefit.

Agreed. Over here, Fredy3D renders Poser scened with POVray and I with Vue, while you use Shader.
When comparing the results, scenes rendered with Poser feel like 10 years outdated in every aspect.
Since e-frontier bought Poser, I have hopes they will incorporate Shader's rendering engine into the next version of Poser.
Or so I hope...

I hope so too. I really wish that Poser handled shadows and light better, not to mention ray tracing. What I really want to do is some renders with radiosity. But Regular shade can't handle the mount of pols in a poser figure

Vue 5 Infinite can handle Poser polycounts up to a certain limit, depending on how much RAM you have. My last Madoka & Takeda pic was rendered using "global ambience", which is a faster simplification of radiosity that can render in HighRes in just a few minutes (instead of hours). As for raytracing, Poser 5 can do it reasonably well but it takes forever to render, which is sort of expected. On the other hand, Vue can raytrace with much higher quality but only takes a few minutes. Poser definitely needs a new rendering engine...

Wow thanks, you are so kind! Funny you like my Anime style when you live in Japan. At every Japanese 3D gallery I've been to, there was little or no Anime at all. I assume the Japanese are tired of it because it's all over everywhere in Japan, and people want to try something different. What do you think? ^_^

Agreed. Here I changed uniform colors, swapped kneeshocks with Summer ones (to match the uniform), removed blur, improved the lighting, and added shadows.
