"Hhhhaaaaaaaahhh??"Arakita Yasutomo from Yowamushi Pedal (as if that expression didn't give it away).
Speaking of expression....Oh my gosh, this one was sooo hard! That squinched up eye is still a bit of a mess, and I may go in and remove some of the smudginess digitally, because I had to erase the eye on that side 3 times, and the paper is just completely shot. I've got lines I can't get rid of, and I can't properly detail the area again *sigh* Paper! Hahah. But still....this one was fun and crazy and difficult, and it may not be my most handsome drawing, but I'm still kinda happy that I managed it.
Oh and I know I said Fuku-chan next, but the Fukutomi I drew didn't look like him. Hrrrmmm...back to the drawing board. I think I've found a different look for him and I'll like the results better, so may draw him again next. We'll see.

I'd ideally like to keep up with both writing and drawing for a while. But the next drawing I'm working on is my character from my story and he appears to be being....difficult. 
If I were smart, I'd work on drawing something a tad easier next...like Aoyagi and Teshima.

Yep, definitely! JaeJae at least I have a good visualization for him. I've drawn him several times before.
I'm trying to draw him in his uniform this time...that's gonna be challenging for me. I'm sooo bad with clothes! His fellow character Tierith is the really hard one for me though. I never could visualize him well enough, so even though I've drawn him, I don't like any of my drawings. *sigh*
Oh....don't get me started talking about my babies! Hahah. I'll quite literally talk your ear off.
Teshima's hair may break me...it definitely looks super challenging to translate. But so pretty!

It is pretty but it's difficult > ~ < at least with darker hair you don't have to worry about making the shading too dark quite as much

His hair is actually lavender....no, wait, that's erroneous. He's half alien, so his hair structure is pretty different than ours. On his home planet, his hair was white, but it had a faint iridescent sheen, so if if you ran your hands through it you might see the sunlight reflect off or through it as rainbows...(His hair was really long back then). However the special lights they use on board the Ship (Giant floating planetoid size space craft he lives on and "pilots" make his hair appear lavender. They don't do that to people with normal white/grey hair, but Jae's refracts the light oddly. The Ship actually uses different lighting in the Med Deck, and his hair goes silvery blue there, and it uses yet different lighting for the farming decks. His hair turns PINK there....he avoids the farming decks because of this, hahaha.
Yeah, with dark/black hair I tend to shade it as dark/near black as I can with pencil and just leave out the highlights to actually draw/texture like hair. Makes it much easier.

Yes, and curly hair is actually fun to draw once you've gotten the hang of it, but it's still pretty time consuming haha

Since he's a character in a story I'm writing, I've thought WAY too much of this stuff out.
I'm soooo bad with curly hair. I think I probably need to do some realism portraits of curly haired characters so I have a better understanding of how it works, but that just seems like so much....work. Hahahah.

You reminded me that I've never bothered to set birthdays for any of my characters. OTL I keep meaning to...well, JaeJae and Tierith I have an excuse for, since I doubt they would still be observing an Old Earth calendar, but not my other characters. *sheepish*
