Description
The Frettchen (Ferret) was an attempt to create a two-man tank later in the war to provide airborne troops with a light vehicle and to compensate for losses in manpower.

The light tank had a decent weapon (75mm L/48 and a machinegun), but was lightly armored with only 34mms of armor).

The tank was not entirely a failure, but proved machanically difficult, with its autoloader and the overtaxed crew. The variants were better received and served in light formations.
