Molkor, the homeworld of the zosdesum and the matriarchal Regime, orbits the older G type star Detsus, spinwards of the Palotan Republic. It eccentric orbit takes it mostly in the outer habitable zone, with a full year taking 509 days to complete- due to its fast rotation, a full orbit takes 763 local days. It is in turn orbited by a small, lone moon called Prakshma. It is a fairy large terrestrial world, larger than Earth with over twice its mass, but only about 70% as dense with a surface gravity only slightly higher.
Due to its old age its geological processes have slowed down- though its interior is still warm enough to create a magnetic field, its surface is mostly geologically inactive and over the last 100 million years has been subjected to intense erosion by the intense wind and harsh weather, rendering most of its three continents mostly flat with a few remaining mountain ranges- even these are very small and not many peaks go above 3000 meters.
The native zosdesum, a matriarchal, highly territorial sapient species have carved out a small civilization among the endless plains of Molkor. Until about 200 years ago, the planet was divided between the more numerous conservative city states and the few but powerful and more advance led by more open minded and benevolent (relatively speaking) Queens. After first contact, the 'benevolent' Four Queens led a war of conquest and united the planet under their rule, establishing the Regime and moving on to carve a small interstellar empire for themselves. Today Molkor sits as the spinwards gateway to the Palotan Republic, a major trade hub and defended by a combined zosdesum-palotan fleet of considerable power.
