I just had to do this I love Link and Linkle is adorable. People seemed to STILL think that Linkle is the female Link. No, she is not. Nintendo said, "She may look familiar."They didn't mean that looks like Link. They were referring to the official guide that fans saw that showed Linkle's concept art. They meant, "Some of you may have seen her before." Plus, like I said before, it official states that Linkle is "little sister like" to Link. But, I guess some people love to dream. Haha and some people still think that Link in the new Zelda game in a girl. No people... Aonuma already said back at E3 2014, "We can't show off a new trailer for Zelda without showing Link." And he referred to Link as "he"ANYWAY, I adore Linkle and can't wait to play her in Hyrule Warriors!

Supposedly, she originally started off as a genderbent Link. Then, they made her into his younger sister before putting her on the shelf. And now, she's a completely new character that bears strong resemblance to Link.
It's cool how far a character can come.

Indeed. Though I do wonder if they could do a Zelda game where you could choose to play as either a male or female Link.
Then it could be more like YOU'RE the Hero, and Nintendo would have an actually legitimate reason for refusing to give Link dialogue.

I don't understand why she was put in at all. I mean, she's an interesting concept, but what's the point? I don't get the hype over her. I would much rather see characters be put in such as Vaati and Shadow Link.

I think a lot of people are excited largely because it means Nintendo realizes the fan demand and are hoping that it will lead to more in future games. Like at the very least giving players the ability to chose Link's gender in future games like you can in pokemon.
Plus she is pretty cute, and the whole 'like Link's sister', is a fun idea from a story perspective.

The hype is because some people are desperate to have a female Link. Because her name is kind of similar, they jumped to the conclusion that she is the female Link. Even though it has been stated over and over that she is like his little sister. And Vaati would be awesome to have in Hyrule Warriors
