All are normally very friendly, but boys(specially older boys) tend to have more time to cuddle.. Females are more high energy
Boys get to the big squish stage about 6 months old.. And females not usually until 1 year..

It hasn´t with my Nirvana, but it has A LOT of other health benefits.
Mine acts more like dogs than anything.. But mine are VERY dependent on me(both Nirvana and Balder tend to follow me around the room frequently)..

I'm really not looking to breed mine, just have a small pet, but I fear some of the health issues that my friend keeps having with hers. I noticed that they break bones often and get tumors. I'd hate for my rat to get a tumor. I've never had a rat before, nor a hamster. Once had a guinea pig and a rabbit. Do rats enjoy being held and pet?

I don´t mind that you ask questions
At least not as long as you take the advice you´re given

They have a rather short life span(18 months on average here), and get sick often..
They cost A LOT in vet care.. At least mine have..
I knew rats were expencive pets to have before I got them, but I´d never imagined them costing this much..
Females are especially prone to tumors, but spaying helps a lot(I think I´ve red that it reduces the chances from 70% to 4%..). it helps with pituary(brain) tumors as well.

It really depends on the rats.. And where you get them from..
My rats love to be petted, but it depends on if they actually have the time to sit still..
Females are generally less cuddly than males.. They don´t have time
So if you´d want cuddly rats, I´d recommend males.. But they smell more, mark more and is more aggressive..

None of mine have broken any bones(just sprained), but I´ve had two or three rats dying/getting pts of cancer.. One at only 14 months of age He was from a pet store.. I will never buy at a pet store again if I have any other option what so ever.
