there is a symbolist artist who painted a series of Death as a lady with big, leathery green wings, gently placing her fingers over the eyes of people she was dispatching... the tenderness is so prevailent here aswell, its amazing. i'll get back to you with the artists name...
the detail, and execution is truley breathtaking, and there's so much story packed into the image.

I love this. At first glance, I thought, "Oh no, another morbid picture by an incredibly talented but over-death-obsessed artist" and then I looked closer. I wonder if there is someone/something like that, that can love the horrid, screaming, dying, most wretched people...I hope so. Aaaaaggh!!! I was looking at his hand to see what kind of flower he was touching (is it a poppy) when suddenly I saw these creepy faces look at me from under the tree. I've never been surprised by a painting before- not like that.
