Description Ahah~ :3
I've been working on this non-stop since Monday...
Urgh... I hated doing Eliwood's cape and Ninian's hair... they took forever.. Litterally. DX A lot of times, I thought... "if it would be finished, I'd be so happy"...
But I made it through yesterday. :3 And I'm quite happy with it... specially Eliwood's cape. It's the first time I actually painted cloth that looks detailed and like cloth. XD
Ninian's hair is.. i dunno. XD

Anyways, this is a screenshot of the Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword (Rekka no Ken) game... From those that I have played (6->9 (parts and bits, finished 9, almost finished 7), I find this the best one. For some reason I find the characters much more likable. :3

It is a screenshot from one of the later chapters. After Ninian gets kidnapped by Nergal... Eliwood is 'given' Durandal, the sword that was used by the hero Roland to slay the dragons during the Scouring (Human-Dragon war), by the Archsage Athos.
When Eliwood and co leave the tomb of Roland, an giant Ice Dragon suddenly appears. Without hesitation, Eliwood slays the beast. But when Nergal appears, loudly laughing, Eliwood feels something is wrong.
Nergal then tells him: "Look what you did... after all she did to come back to the one she loved..."
When Eliwood looks back to the dragon, the beast is no more. In it's stead lays the lifeless Ninian....

It's such a heartwrenching scene... ;-; And I liked this shot. I thought it would be very nice as a wallpaper. :3
Oh, well, it's up to you if you like it or not...

Oh, yeah, this is a paint-over... vector... kinda thing....

PS: I DO support Ninian X Eliwood

Oh, this is a really neat idea~ I think it looks very close to the original CG. Nice job! (And yes, this scene is really sad. ;_

Thank you very much. :3
I used the original CG as the "background layer" and painted over it. :3
Isn't it? ;;

I actually got quite attached to Ninian during the course of FE so when she died I was all, NOOOO!

So did I. D: I was working so hard to support her and Eliwood... and then she died. And I went "noooooooooooooo".
I still haven't finished FE7... I don't know the details about the ending. D:

Finish it . Epic ending. But bring ur best unit in each category and don't let Rath get hurt. And make sure to have at least one spare space per unit

I want to. But I can't seem to get past the first part of Light. Someone always dies. D:
Okay, I'll keep that in mind. :3

Only fight one room's inhabitants at a time. If there are mages, Silence them and use Psychic to heal the wounded. Keep out of the mage's range (click on enemy and there'll be a red spread showing max attack range) and...be careful?

Sounds like a plan. =/ I tried something like that last time I played FE7. Didn't turn out to go that well. I'll just have to try until I win, no?

So do I. =/ I'd love to have the actual copy of the game. But at this time, I can only find it on ebay for more than 100 Euro's... which is a little too much if you ask me. =/ (considering that new GBA games cost about 40 Euros)

Yeah. Games cost too much these days....how's it going? I'm on FE 8 now

Koto-wari In reply to SigmaSword [2010-11-06 23:50:44 +0000 UTC]

Specially for an "old" game. >_>
I haven't played FE7 in a while now. Last one I played was Radiant Dawn (today). I finished FE8 in over the summer. But RD is still one I have to finish. I'm slowly advancing through the desert (Part 4 chapter 3 - Distortions). Naesala and Sigrun are doing most of the work. XD;

I liked FE8 a lot more on my second (first complete) play-through than my first. I took Eirika's path first (because I wanted to hear about Joshua) but got stuck, and took Ephraim's the second time. Went a lot better.

Ah. I always use my swordsmaster and paladin guys...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Koto-wari In reply to SigmaSword [2010-11-07 00:37:43 +0000 UTC]

But in a desert a Raven and a promoted Pegasus Knight have better range than paladins, swordsmasters and other footfolk. I'm looking for the items as well... and it's taking a while. I also want to recruit Stefan so I have to send Micaiah and some fighters to that side. Naesala and Sigrun do the work on the other side.
Jill and Lethe seem to have , unfortunatly, lost of the strength they had in Path or Radiance on my team.

Koto-wari In reply to Drakenzar [2009-08-17 11:36:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's from Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword. I'm totally hooked to that game. XD Even though I have yet to actually finish it... I'm on my third play-through. And every time I start to love it more and more.

I am astonished by the amount of detail the FE people managed to put into those frames that are not bigger than a GBA screen...Without making it look to crowded. It's amazing.
Thank you, Drake.

This scene was so so sad and touching. ;_; I wanted to cry D; but I like these screenshots too.

I like how you did this, the cape looks really nice.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Koto-wari In reply to Toivoshi [2009-08-10 21:00:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, so did I. ;-; The next picture was so heartwrenching as well. Eliwood hugging Ninian tightly, not wanting to let go of her, begging for forgiveness..
Nils who cried so hard, on his knees... Lyn who didn't know where to turn to... Hector who couldn't do a thing... Ever since I started doing this, I've imagined that scene a several times in my head... I could write a fanfic of it by now. ^^"
But I can't write, so.. x)
So do I... I'm playing it again, and each time I come across a screenshot, I printscreen it. I'm astonished that they managed to get so much detail in a picture that's not intended to bigger than a GBA screen.
Playing it on my computerscreen enlargens it quite a bit, but it's still very nice.

Thank you. ^_^

Toivoshi In reply to Koto-wari [2009-08-10 21:18:25 +0000 UTC]

Very true.. That's why I love FE so much cause it's not just the gameplay, but the story is very strong and important as well.

Yep, you got the details very nicely. I did the same things ones with the Joshua picture in the beginning intro in Sacred stones. xD I just re-drew him from the screenshot picture though it's the same picture as in the official art, lol. It was fun.

You're welcome! ^^

Koto-wari In reply to Toivoshi [2009-08-17 11:49:52 +0000 UTC]

You said it. Everything in Fire Emblem is important in some way or another. Each game has a very strong story line, even if the base is quite simple (Evil takes over, Good has to defeat it). Another thing. Non of the characters is so-called "canonfodder"... If one dies, he/se is unable to be brought back (unlike Final Fantasy or something). Support conversations are a joy to read, and strenghten your character...

It is a nice picture of Joshua though. :3 Haha, I bet it was. ^_^
