This was a great book (review here ), and fun to do these characters! I went pretty traditional with them, but I still like how they turned out. I don't know why, but I was kind of nervous to do these two. Maybe I was afraid of being too predictable, but eh, they are who they are! Who am I to try to recreate RLS?

I think Treasure Planet is my absolute favorite Disney movie. They look so awesome! (really loving what you did with Jim's hair. Much better imo XD)

Yeah, it's not my favorite or anything, but it's definitely better than most people give it credit for (since most people didn't even bother seeing it), and I always like it whenever I watch it. Thanks much! I wanted to do the ponytail for sure, but I wanted to make it different.

I must say, as a huge fan of the book, I was a bit scared when I heard Disney was going to make a space version of it... but then I fell in love with it as well

Yeah, I hadn't read the book when the movie came out, so I wasn't too attached to any particular look or style, so I was pretty into Disney's version (though it definitely wasn't like my usual favorite Disney style or formula). And thanks much! I've drawn a lot of characters from this period so I tried to make their costumes have some unique details to set them apart, and Long John is definitely a complex and interesting character, so I tried to get some of his charisma but also scalawaggery into his design and expression.
