Thank you! It is 20mm or 0.782in/slightly more than 3/4in. And the stone is 5mm.

Replying to the stones question. Take a look at these but keep in mind that price does match quality unfortunately.

Thank you so much! It took me a bit of time to figure out a way not to use any soldering on that setting, but I have

Great pendant, I love the different colours of the metal and I love the way you wrapped the "stone" in it.
As for the photo, I can assure I've seen worse one! This one is quite good!

Thank you! Well, of course there are worse, but we have to strive to be the best right?

Well thank you, one thing bothers me about this pendant, and that is the setting. I don't know how visible this is but it is one of those thin prong types that sticks out quite a bit and is stamped so there is no way to make it not as tall
By the way, I made the thing without any glue or soldering

magpiesmiscellany In reply to KubusRubus [2010-02-18 04:11:00 +0000 UTC]

You can tell it sticks out a bit by the angle, but just think of it as added dimentionality

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KubusRubus In reply to magpiesmiscellany [2010-02-18 04:19:03 +0000 UTC]

Is that like a cross between dimensions and demented? I kid, but seriously, you don't think that makes it awkward?

magpiesmiscellany In reply to KubusRubus [2010-02-20 00:50:12 +0000 UTC]

At least from the picture it doesn't really bug me. If it bugs you. could you add a wire twist or something around the setting to make the raised look intentional? (Sort of like in woodworking my dad will double up a trim to make it look like one fancy one.)

KubusRubus In reply to magpiesmiscellany [2010-02-20 00:57:44 +0000 UTC]

I've thought about that, I've also thought about replacing that setting with a four prong cast setting, but the thing is that the whole thing is held together by a machine screw that I've flattened like a rivet inside the setting, the stamped setting has a flat bottom that I drilled a hole in, the cast setting looks like an upside down conical tube and I'd have to solder it, risking ruining the rest of the piece

I say leave it then. Or put it away for awhile at least.

KubusRubus In reply to magpiesmiscellany [2010-02-20 01:03:38 +0000 UTC]

That is basically what I'm thinking too, though.. think I should try to just put a ring around the base and try to make it stay by friction?

magpiesmiscellany In reply to KubusRubus [2010-02-20 02:47:14 +0000 UTC]

Worth a shot if you've an easy way to make the right size ring.

The problem is more in getting it on there without destroying everything
Wanna see what I just did with the moonstone piece? [link] (basically a failed setting in my opinion but whatever)

Thank you very much At some point in the near future I hope to have a wider range of things available and at a wider price range too, it is sort of like a "between a rock and a hard place" type situation though, on one hand I would like to have accessible prices but on the other hand most things take a lot of time and some parts I use are basically irreplaceable/or cost a lot (like that circular thing in "what goes around") so yeah, I'm gonna stop rambling now

KubusRubus In reply to Minoru-Kokubunji [2010-02-24 23:22:42 +0000 UTC]

Well I meant that I haven't used depleted uranium, though radioactive materials are much easier to acquire than you may think (not that I have any, I do enough harmful things, don't need the extra radiation)
