I'm talking about Ben's Nemuina form: Dream-Weaver

I'll be splitting this one's description in 2 main sections, starting with the 1st: BIOLOGY and SOCIETY:

These shape shifting asymmetrical humanoids originate from Anur Khufos's planetary ring. Nemuinas don't have a permanent state. They don't have flesh, nor bones or organs. They're instead made of millions upon million microscopic silicone like grains that all function together as one fully sapient organism. They can then shift around these particles, giving their bodies limitless shapeshifting and density shifting. But their most widely known and feared abilities are actually the powers of dream and mind manipulation.

To understand where these powers originate from, we first have to explore their natural "birth place". Khufos originally didn't have the 2 planetary rings but rather one small moon. In the times of the so called "Corrodium era", Khufos primary species (yet to be explored) was doing their best to collect as much Corrodium crystals as possible (the crystals got there by entering Khufos's orbut when breaking off of their moon in the first place). And after almost emptying their planet dry of any Corrodium, they traveled to the mood itself to continue their mineral mining there. But after digging so many tunnels in moon's core, the moon collapsed into itself. But instead of it's chunks entering Khufos's orbit, the chunks started to spin with the planet, and eventually broke down into small silicone fragments that formed the 1st planetary ring. But here's where the stuff gets interesting.

Before the moon's destruction, the moon itself wasn't just a plain rock. It had 2 sides: THE LIT one and THE DARK SIDE that never saw the direct sunlight. And due to Corrodium being a big energy source that is highly reactive to light and sun's radiation, the two sides of the moon evolved quite differently from one another. The one exposed to the sun created lifeforms purely made of moon's light blue salt that was created due to sun's radiation and constant light exposure. These creatures formed in various forms and lived purely off of solar energy.

On the other side tho the Corrodium functioned more feral. It covered the whole dark moon's surface in purple salt and grew a unique salt based plant life under the surface. The roots of these plants grew across the whole dark side and functioned as some sort of nervous system. Whenever a creature from the lit side would wonder to the dark side, the roots would sense it and would trap the creature in a quicksand like manner. When the creature would start to slowly sink, the radiaton of the dark Corrodium would start effect it in a hallucinative way. After being exposed for so long, the creature would not only drive the creature insane, but made it unable to escape the root's grasp. The plants would then feed off their salt bodies and grew even more, eventually growing into big monsterous pitcher plants.

But when the moon broke, those 2 worlds collided and spent millennium mixing together. But not only have they merged into one creature, but due to the Corrodium particles within the salts having a different magnetical charge from one another, their bodies grew asymmetrically. And so did their minds. Each side had it's own consciousness, one being kind and understandable while the other kept it's original feral aggression.

But just how can they manipulate dreams you might ask. Well each little particle has it's own amount of Corrodium still in it. And no matter which one, the lit or the dark one, they both radiate their own energy waves that the Nemuina can manipulate. Once Nemuina releases their sand, their prey will automatically become dizzy until eventually becoming unconscious. The particles will then travel to the person's brain, where they'd read their brain electric signals. They can also add and even tamper and change the person's brain frequency, basically manually effecting their dreams. What effects the dream itself is which personality is in charge of the operation, the dark (nightmare) or the light (dream) personality. But that does not mean they can't work together to reach the same goal.

Nemuinas feast off Corrodium and solar energy, so they usually just stay on their planetary rings.

And the last (much shorter) point: the DESIGN itself:

As many might have noticed, this redesign took MANY creative liberties and for a good reason. OV is personally great, but as I said with Nerve-rush, Rubix, Crashhopper and Gravattack, they sometimes fail at making their aliens believable or over all explore their biology (not always but still quite often), which is the opposite to what this upcoming series is gonna be about.

So with this one I rly leaned into the abstract, dream world esthetic. I got the idea to actually split the personality between nightmare and dream once the moon shaped shoulder spikes became part of the design. And from then on I just went on making the anatomy even more monsterous on the dark side and then fairy/elf and angelic on the lit side.

I kept the original colors to respect the original and I think it's for the better, since it totally fits the Anur esthetic. Also I have no problem with shorter and smaller aliens (hell my XLR8 is like 135cm/4.42 feet tall) but this guy just had to be bigger to fit his sandman or even boogieman esthetic.
