same here but i lean more toward dramatic angsty romance, I have a habit of beating the shit out of my characters when i write stories too

You know, i only have like one Snape romance story, and i am still working on it. All my others deal with him getting stuck in situations with people he hates....
And beating them up is the only way you get a great comfort out of it.

that, but I have been into angst since i was a little kid and now that i think about it. it's kinda disturbing. I used to watch x-men and loved it when logan would get hurt and someone had to look after him

its not disturbing, and i was the same way with michealangelo on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I used to love it when he couldnt fight and had to complain about i while that red head chick took care of him. Can't remeber her name...
